A reminder - Evolutionary evidence benefits from methods that separate mechanisms from observed patterns. Modern Causal Inference Methods is a 2-day seminar livestreaming October 15–16 with Michael Zyphur (Instats). Use causal diagrams, target-trial thinking, and explicit estimands to structure evolutionary and genetic research questions. Assess confounding, overlap, and treatment effect heterogeneity when analysing observational data on selection, environmental change, or population processes. Apply matching, weighting, instrumental variables, and quasi-experimental designs in R while stating the assumptions that support each causal claim.
