Applications are open for the CCLENS Spring School 2027: Critical Computational Literacy for Earth-Nature-Society Futures 5-9 April 2027 Frankfurt am Main, Germany CCLENS is a five-day interdisciplinary spring school for early-career researchers interested in how computational models are built, connected, interpreted, and critically examined across ecology, biodiversity science, climate science, Earth-system science, economics, data science, computational social science, Science and Technology Studies, philosophy of science, and related fields. We particularly welcome PhD candidates, early postdocs, and advanced Master's students interested in modelling at the interface of climate, biodiversity, and society. Participants will work across four interconnected tracks: Natural Sciences Models Human-Earth System Models Socio-Economic Models Modelling Reflection and Science and Technology Studies The school combines hands-on work with computational models with critical reflection on uncertainty, assumptions, model integration, and the movement of knowledge across disciplines. There is no application or participation fee. Accommodation is fully covered, and travel support and childcare support can be requested.
