A full-time postdoctoral researcher position in conservation genomics is available in the Department of Biology at Ball State University (Muncie, IN), with field research conducted at the Southwestern Research Station (SWRS) in Portal, AZ, and partner sites.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will direct Chiricahua Leopard Frog breeding experiments at field sites during the summer breeding seasons and lead genomics projects, sample processing, and bioinformatic analyses during the academic year. The postdoc will integrate research efforts across academic and conservation partners, mentor undergraduate researchers, present findings at conferences, and lead peer-reviewed publications.
Start Date & Compensation:
- Start Date: May 2027
- Salary: $62,374 (full-time, grant-funded)

Qualifications:
- Minimum: Ph.D. in biology, conservation genomics, applied wildlife biology, evolution and ecology, or a closely related field by date of appointment; at least one year of research experience in a university setting.
- Preferred: A blended background in conservation genomics and applied wildlife biology with an interest in bioinformatics; experience with amphibian husbandry; experience coordinating remote fieldwork logistics; strong collaborative skills across conservation agencies, non-profits, and academic partners; and experience mentoring undergraduate researchers.
