Postdoc: Understanding polygenic adaptation with genomic time series data from Drosophila populations evolving in a novel environment. Our laboratory runs more than 15 replicated experimental evolution studies across three Drosophila species, spanning more than 400 generations of adaptation in different environments. The successful candidate will characterize the genomic response of the evolved populations, drawing on available genomic time-series data (Pool-seq and haplotype data). Molecular phenotypes can also be generated to aid in interpreting these results. The postholder will have considerable latitude in prioritizing the research focus among the available data. The position starts on 1.10.26, though a later start date is negotiable, and is funded for up to two years (if starting 1.10.). Successful candidates will have the opportunity to take over flies and data of the ongoing evolution experiments — an excellent springboard toward an independent position.
