PhD Project: Evolution of thermal tolerance in human-modified habitats
PhD position available at the University of Valencia, Spain, working on the evolution of thermal limits in response to human-modified landscapes in soil-dwelling animals. Using springtails (Collembola) as a model system, the project combines fieldwork and experimental physiology to measure thermal tolerance, reproductive success, and rapid adaptive plasticity across natural habitats and anthropogenic plantations. Ideal for candidates with a background in ecology, evolutionary biology, or physiology. Note that the project involves fieldwork and long-stays in Spain, Brazil, and Australia.
