PhD or MPhil Position: Cave invertebrate environmental DNA
The Invertebrates Systematics Group at Adelaide University is seeking a PhD or MPhil student to investigate cave biodiversity in the Nullarbor using environmental DNA and population genomics.
The research will develop new approaches for detecting cave-dwelling invertebrates and reveal patterns of connectivity and dispersal among populations, helping to improve our understanding and conservation of subterranean ecosystems.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of geneticists, taxonomists, and ecologists with strong links to industry, government, and conservation partners. The position is fully funded and is open to both Australian and international candidates.
Applicants should have a BSc (Honours) or Master's degree (GPA >5) in a relevant field such as ecology, genetics, bioinformatics, environmental science, zoology, conservation biology, or a related discipline. Experience in molecular laboratory techniques is desirable, as are strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
